How
to Give a Gift
Child abuse is everyone's problem. Every year, 3 million children
are reported abused or neglected. An average of three children die
every day from abuse or neglect. Not everyone has the time nor the
expertise to volunteer or provide direct services. However, you
can help break the cycle of abuse by making a donation to c.a.r.e.
No matter the amount of your contribution, you can help us with
our fight against child abuse.
Your
contribution can be designated to a certain program or it can be
given to c.a.r.e. to be used where the need is greatest.
Your
contribution can be designated to the following programs:
Home
based Parent Education: Working with families directly in their
homes is the most effective way of stopping abuse and neglect. Contributions
to this program can help sponsor an advocate to work with a family,
send advocates to trainings to improve their skills and provide
materials for the advocate and family to work with.
CareHouse: Our supervised visitation center provides children
and their parents that very important visitation time while making
sure that children are safe. Contributions to this program can furnish
toys for the visitation center, train volunteers, provide scholarships
for needy families and help with office supplies.
SAFE
TOUCH: Our SAFETOUCH Program educates children and adolescents
on how to recognize, resist and report abusive situations. These
programs are offered to the schools and have been in place since
1987. Contributions to this program can help purchase puppets and
videos for the presentations, pay for additional presentations and
offset the cost of office supplies.
Children's
Programs: Our children's Program provides children opportunities
to work on family issues, improve self-esteem and provide anger
management techniques. A contribution to this program can provide
art materials, toys and books, artwork and decorations for the children
's room.
Parent
Education: Our Parent Education Program offers parenting classes
throughout the year in both English and Spanish. Parents can learn
effective parenting skills including behavior management, communication
techniques and problem solving. Contributions to this program can
provide scholarships to qualifying families, curriculum support
materials, a small CD player, additional pamphlets and new brochures.
c.a.r.e.: A donation to c.a.r.e. will insure that the monies
go to where the need is greatest. It will also help us to keep up
with the 21st century by purchasing computers, printers and copiers.
It can insure that our staff is provided the best educational opportunities
so that we are up par with current research and techniques on preventing
child maltreatment.
Yes, I want to help c.a.r.e. keep children safe and families healthy
through child abuse prevention.
