A Brief Agency History

1976

"Child Abuse Intervention" agency was founded in Greeley to lend support to parents.

1977

Agency received non-profit status, continuing as a one-person agency with a board of directors.

1983

Name was changed to "Child Abuse Resource and Education." Parenting groups with a children's group were added with the addition of 2 part-time staff.

1986

Name was changed to current Child Advocacy Resource and Education, Inc. (c.a.r.e.). Program expansion included home-based parent education services.

1987

SafeTouch Program began in area schools.

1998

Expansion of agency to additional space in Evans at the Community ~ Resource Center, home to 6 non-profit agencies.

1999

Start-up of the Supervised Visitation and Exchange Center, "careHouse" in Evans.

2001

Move of the entire agency to the Community Resource Center In Evans.

2002

Launched organization's website!
